PiPod Podcast Industry News - June 1, 2007

Hi

Welcome to the latest installment of PiPod Podcast Industry News.

Amazon swing into action with Podcast
Uber-online retailer Amazon.com has launched its very own podcast network with a series of podcasts that illustrate some of the best uses of the medium...

The network now offers four free content channels:
Amazon BookClips - featuring MP3 samples of forthcoming audio books
Music You Should Hear - compiled by the Amazon music editor and featuring the sounds of up and coming artists
Significant Seven - a monthly podcast detailing seven of the best new releases - and offering subscribers discounts on these titles
Amazon Wire - a bi-weekly magazine-style program featuring interviews with artists, authors, musicians and more (previous editions have featured interviews with Sting, author Michael Crichton, and director Steven Soderberg!)

Check it out at www.amazon.com/podcast

It has some valuable lessons for marketers and advertisers interested in testing the waters... Succinct case studies on brands such as Burger King, Victoria's Secrets and Honda, as well as the impact of Google's aquisition YouTube and the emergence of advertising in online video....
